Fish fry masala or masala fish fry is a mouthwatering and very tempting fried fish recipe made using fresh fish pieces coming out straight from fresh waters. Fish fry simply best as a side dish or even as a starter. 

You can also use small fish fillet and deep fry or shallow fry to make it as finger foods which are a great choice for a party or potluck snack. Pan-fried Fish fry consumes minimal oil but still has a crunchy crust and taste delicious while deep-fried consumes a lot of oil. 

There are various ways to cook fish. Talking from the health point of view the best ways are baking, shallow frying, grilling, poaching and steaming.
The main and the most important part in making fish recipes is the selection of the fish and if a good fish is selected, then half work is done. The fish has to be alive, fresh, then it has to be cut into desired shapes and sizes.

How to Make Fish Fry

1. Clean fish and wash it twice to thrice. Set aside.
2. In a bowl add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, lemon juice, salt as per taste, ginger garlic paste.
3. all the spices well.
4. Add water gradually approx… about 2 to 3 tsp, mix it and make a thick paste.
5. The masala paste is ready.
6. Take some paste in your hands, take the fish piece and coat it all over the whole fish piece with the masala paste.
7. Coat all the fish pieces with the masala paste.
8. Marinate the fish for 10-15 minutes.
9. Heat oil in Ottawa.
10. Fry till crusty on both the sides.
11. Garnish with onion wedges and grated carrot.
12. Serve and enjoy


• 6 pieces – fish
• 2 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• 1/2 tsp – coriander powder (optional)
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1 tsp – Lime juice
• Salt to taste
• Oil to toast/deep fry
